Launching on 1st January, we set out to cover 24,901 miles to raise money for War Child UK, and thanks to your steps, walks, runs, and sporting challenges, we have done just that. The Peace Band community came together and raised over £120,000 which has been matched pound for pound by the UK Government.

This incredible amount of money raised equates to us being able to provide nutritious meals to over 100,000 children in one of our War Child centres or support 3,354 families with cash assistance to cover their basic needs for a month.

The challenge may be over, but you can still collect those last-minute donations through your fundraising page. Donations received until the 18 Feb will be matched by the UK Government meaning the money you raise will go twice as far.

We’d love to let you know about other War Child fundraising events & challenges like Peace Band. Sign up and we’ll make sure you’re the first to hear about what we’re up to.

How you have helped children in war zones

In Afghanistan, ongoing conflict has left thousands of people with no financial security, and limited access to the food they need for their families to survive. As a result, thousands of children have no choice but to leave their education, their families and their homes in search of work. War Child local staff are reuniting children with their families, bringing them back to the safety of their homes. With your help, we can provide the support to enable them to stay there. The money the Peace Band community has raised will provide catch-up education classes, apprenticeships and cash grants to children and their families.
